Peningkatan Disiplin Melalui Morning Briefing: Inisiatif SMP Edu Global School Medan

Pagi ini, Kamis 8 Mei, suasana halaman SMP Edu Global School Medan terasa berbeda. Seluruh siswa berkumpul dengan rapi, mengikuti morning briefing yang dipimpin langsung oleh Kepala Sekolah, Bapak Helmi. Kegiatan yang dimulai sekitar pukul 07.00 WIB ini menjadi bagian dari komitmen sekolah dalam membentuk karakter siswa yang disiplin, bertanggung jawab, dan siap menghadapi tantangan masa depan.

Dalam arahannya, Bapak Helmi menekankan pentingnya kedisiplinan sebagai pondasi utama dalam pendidikan. “Disiplin bukan hanya soal datang tepat waktu atau berpakaian rapi,” ujar beliau di depan ratusan siswa, “tetapi juga tentang tanggung jawab pada diri sendiri, menghormati guru dan teman, serta konsistensi dalam menjalani proses belajar.” Suasana hening dan penuh perhatian menunjukkan bahwa pesan tersebut diterima dengan baik oleh para siswa.

Morning briefing ini bukan sekadar seremoni, melainkan bagian dari pendekatan pendidikan karakter yang diterapkan di Edu Global School. Setiap pekan, briefing pagi menghadirkan pesan-pesan motivasional, evaluasi singkat kegiatan, hingga ajakan untuk refleksi diri. Khusus hari ini, tema besar yang diangkat adalah “Menumbuhkan Disiplin, Meraih Prestasi”, sebuah pengingat bahwa keberhasilan akademik tidak dapat dilepaskan dari sikap dan etika.

Selain pengarahan dari kepala sekolah, beberapa siswa juga diberi kesempatan untuk berbicara dan menyampaikan aspirasi mereka tentang tantangan dalam menerapkan disiplin di sekolah maupun di rumah. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa sekolah mendorong budaya komunikasi dua arah antara siswa dan pihak manajemen, menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang lebih terbuka dan suportif.

Dengan kegiatan seperti morning briefing ini, SMP Edu Global School Medan terus menunjukkan komitmennya dalam membentuk generasi muda yang tidak hanya cerdas secara akademis, tetapi juga matang secara emosional dan sosial. Kedisiplinan yang ditanamkan sejak dini diyakini akan menjadi bekal penting bagi para siswa dalam menapaki jenjang pendidikan berikutnya dan kehidupan secara luas.
