Siswa SMP Edu Global Medan Teliti Efektivitas English Club dalam Meningkatkan Kosakata Murid Pemula

 



Medan, 11 Februari 2025 – Seorang siswa SMP Edu Global Medan, Muhammad Akhdan Fahri, berhasil melakukan penelitian mini riset yang menarik tentang efektivitas kegiatan ekstrakurikuler English Club dalam menambah kosakata murid kelas pemula. Penelitian yang dilakukan dalam tahun ajaran 2023/2024 ini menunjukkan bahwa program ekstrakurikuler tersebut berkontribusi besar dalam meningkatkan kemampuan literasi siswa.


Dalam risetnya, Akhdan mengamati dan menganalisis perkembangan kosakata para peserta English Club selama beberapa bulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa yang rutin mengikuti kegiatan ini mengalami peningkatan jumlah kosakata secara signifikan dibandingkan dengan mereka yang tidak mengikuti ekstrakurikuler ini.

"Melalui English Club, siswa memiliki kesempatan untuk belajar bahasa Inggris dengan lebih interaktif dan menyenangkan. Mereka juga lebih percaya diri dalam menggunakan bahasa Inggris dalam percakapan sehari-hari," ungkap Akhdan.


Kegiatan English Club di SMP Edu Global Medan dirancang untuk memberikan pengalaman belajar yang lebih komunikatif, dengan metode seperti permainan kata, diskusi kelompok, dan simulasi percakapan dalam berbagai situasi. Dengan metode ini, siswa lebih mudah menyerap kosakata baru tanpa merasa terbebani.

Hasil penelitian ini mendapat apresiasi dari para guru dan teman-teman sekolahnya. Kepala Sekolah SMP Edu Global Medan juga menyampaikan dukungannya terhadap penelitian yang dilakukan Akhdan.

"Penelitian ini sangat bermanfaat bagi pengembangan metode pembelajaran di sekolah. Dengan adanya data yang menunjukkan efektivitas English Club, kami semakin termotivasi untuk terus mengembangkan program-program literasi bagi siswa," ujar Kepala Sekolah.


Penelitian ini menjadi bukti bahwa pendekatan belajar yang menarik dan berbasis pengalaman dapat membantu siswa dalam meningkatkan keterampilan bahasa. Diharapkan, temuan ini dapat menjadi inspirasi bagi sekolah lain untuk lebih mengoptimalkan kegiatan ekstrakurikuler guna mendukung perkembangan akademik siswa.
